The Challenge

Media Think is currently an all-volunteer organization with a working Board and core group that totals ten individuals. We provide both governance for the organization and deliver its programs. We presently operate with no annual budget, due to minimal overhead and few additional costs. Based on presentation fees, individual donation income, and occasional small-dollar grants, we operate on a breakeven basis.

We are seeking program and capacity building funds to increase the breadth and reach of our services. A complete business plan is available, detailing both our programmatic and capacity building goals.

How You Can Help

Our success depends on continued support from foundations, businesses and individuals – people like you who are interested in changing the way we think about media. Your dollars are invested in our education programs and other means of directly advancing media literacy, such as:

Please give generously. Here are a few examples of what your donation can do.

$50 pays for materials we use in our presentations and outreach work, providing practical guidance and instruction in media literacy.

$150 pays for Media Think to give a customized, one-hour media literacy workshop for a school or organization. This hands-on workshop targets specific audiences around media literacy issues related to violence, health, self-esteem, relationships, the environment and consumerism.

$350 pays for a trained presenter from Media Think to attend a professional development event and train the trainers. We have worked with Departments of Health and Human Services, educators, and healthcare professionals to teach them skills and tools to help their clients/students better cope with media’s influence.
